You will be responsible for developing a strategic patient flow framework to ensure Women’s & Children’s Health Network (WCHN), State and National key performance indicators are achieved. This will entail working collaboratively with nursing, midwifery, medical, allied health and other staff and contractors to support patient flow across the network. You will lead systems and processes to support the patient journey across the organisation to achieve a seamless flow, ensuring patients are admitted or transferred to the right place at the right time, and oversee length of stay in relation to the estimated day of discharge. This will including providing electronic real time data for clinical and managerial staff and implementing a suite of reports with accompanying analysis. This is a new role within the Women’s & Children’s Health Network, which is the leading service for maternity and paediatric services in South Australia. There is strong executive support for this role which reports directly to the Executive Director Nursing & Midwifery.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. With proven experience as a senior leader or manager in the health care industry, you will be skilled in managing and leading complex projects. You will display effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation. Your proficiency in computer systems and analytics will equip you to analyse and report on complex data.
