At the centre of medical and research excellence, this is an outstanding opportunity to broaden your experience in a role that offers a range of variety. Joining South Australia’s largest accredited teaching hospital, you will engage in clinical practice as determined by the HOU Ophthalmology Royal Adelaide Hospital. In this integral role as the Vitreo Retinal Fellow, you will be responsible for the outpatient and inpatient day to day clinical care of patients under the supervision of nominated consultants. A leadership position where your ability to supervise and provide support is key, you will ensure a high standard of clinical practice of junior medical staff in the department. Furthermore, you will actively participate in departmental teaching and provide support to junior medical staff.
To be considered, you must hold a MBBS or equivalent degree registerable with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA). Past history will show extensive experience supervising and teaching junior medical staff, reflecting exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. You will have a demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in the relevant specialty, able to operate autonomously and with professional integrity. Able to work collaboratively within a team environment, you will be a proven problem solver with excellent investigating and negotiating skills and resolution of complaints. A sound understanding of quality improvement principles combined with the ability to adapt easily to change will also hold you in good stead for this role.
