The South Australian Government has announced it has appointed Tatts Group as the operator to manage SA Lotteries’ brands and products for the coming 40 years.

State Treasurer Jack Snelling said the appointment would see Tattas manage $426 million in lotteries.

“The $427 million significantly exceeds retention value and is substantially above our reserve price. It is also the highest valuation ever achieved for a lotteries transaction in Australia,” Mr Snelling said.

The Government will retain ownership of its SA Lotteries' brands. Lottery gambling tax and unclaimed prizes will continue to be paid into the Hospitals and Recreation and Sport Funds.

Mr Snelling said the appointment of Tatts will ensure that SA Lotteries’ customers and retail agents will benefit from guaranteed access to national lottery jackpot games.
