The South Australian Government has it will move to tackle the rising cost of living in the state, specifically addressing what it calls life-changing events, housing expenses and concessions.

Premier Jay Weatherill launched a consultation paper earlier this week outling what measures the State Government could take to keep the state an affordable place to live.

“I know that many South Australians are struggling with cost of living pressures,” Mr Weatherill said.

“That’s why making South Australia an affordable place to live is one of my Government’s Seven Strategic Priorities.

“Over the past decade, the South Australian economy has grown and we have had great prosperity, but the cost of some essential household expenses has risen considerably. I want to ensure South Australia remains an affordable and attractive place to live, work, do business and raise a family.”
