A new round of grants has been awarded in the Regional Arts Fund, providing money to innovative projects in regional governments of Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.

Funds announced today will push ahead several interesting and ground-breaking ideas, including; textile workshops to inspire and connect newly arrived migrants in Tasmania, professional photographers mentoring amateurs to create and capture stories of the people who live and work along the River Murray and dozens of workshops in theatre, photography, film-making, visual arts and creative movement.

The Regional Arts Fund is an Australian Government initiative that seeks to support cultural development in regional and remote Australia. The funding for each state is delivered through regional arts organisations and coordinated through Regional Arts Australia.

Hundreds of thousands of dollars in total has gone out to a range of worthy recipients, more information on allocations and applications for future funds are available from the Regional Arts website.
