The newly minted Northern Territory Government has outlined its key priorities for the coming months, with Chief Minister Terry Mills saying a number of key reforms are on the agenda.

Amongst the proposed changes will a significant strengthening to the Environmental Protection Authority,  a bolstered Tourism Commission and Planning Commission and the introduction of ‘one-punch homicide laws’.

Mr Mills said the Assembly will receive an updated version of the government’s 100 Day Plan, as well as statements addressing key issues of concern to the Territory, including costs of living, housing and the three-hub economy.

Manager of Government Business, John Elferink, said the change of Government has brought with it a change of direction and renewed focus on frontline delivery for Territorians.

“The 12th Parliament will have a business focus and I want to see it working for all Territorians, whether they are in Darwin, Alice Springs or remote areas,” Mr Elferink said.
