The Northern Territory has called for applications from businesses and research organisations for the latest round of  the NT Research and Innovation Grants.

 

Minister for Business and Employment, Rob Knight, said the government wanted to develop more Territory-grown research and innovation.

 

“These grants have proved to be an important launching platform for numerous local businesses and research projects opening up national and international opportunities; last year 14 projects received funding totalling $334 000,” Mr Knight said.

 

The Research and Innovation Grants are awarded in three categories:

 

  • Research Grants, available to both collaborative and independent research projects provided the proposed research meets Northern Territory priorities as outlined in the Research Grants Guidelines.

 

  • Innovation Grants, to assist businesses and individuals with the development of an innovative idea, product or service.

 

  • Proof-of-Concept Grants, to enable individuals and small teams in the initial development stage of a project or idea discover at modest cost whether it has the potential to be expanded into a larger scale project of economic and/or social benefit to the Territory.
