About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, this role is to ensure leadership, mentoring and support across the facilities through the achievement of positive people, culture, learning and development and safety performance outcomes in keeping with, and in support of, the organisation’s strategic direction, the Calvary mission and values, and the operational and financial performance requirements of the facilities.  The role will establish a HR shared service for regional hospitals and embed a business partnering model with appropriate service level agreements enabling a regional approach to workforce management and development.

As part of this role, the experienced Director or People & Organisational Development will possess:

  • A relevant degree or post graduate degree, or equivalent experience, in human resources with significant experience (10+ years) in senior HR leadership roles in complex organisations.
  • Health sector experience desirable but not essential.  Aptitude and ability to grasp the challenges and opportunities in the sector and the community in which the ACT region operates.
  • Proven management acumen and a high level understanding of contemporary approaches to human resource management and business partnering.
  • Proven change management experience and capacity to drive major change programs including new HR service delivery models in a manner consistent with Calvary’s values.
  • Proven track record in effective and timely industrial relations negotiations.
  • Strong track record in design and delivery of HR and learning and development programs and processes aimed at continuously improving the capability and engagement of the workforce.
