A fantastic opportunity is now available for an experienced motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised Senior Hydrogeologist to join the Department of Environment, Parks and Water Security’s Water Resources Division.

You will be joining a team that has extensive experience in water management and hydrogeology. Working with the latest tools and instrumentation including an in-house drilling team which is unique nationally. The Territory is an exciting place to live and work with environments unlike anything else in Australia; Top End to the Arid zone.

The Senior Hydrogeologist works under the direction of the Director Water Assessment, to coordinate and deliver hydrological and hydrogeological projects and programs and provide specialist groundwater hydrological information and advice to ensure sustainable water development and management across the Northern Territory.

The Senior Hydrogeologist will contribute to the delivery of water assessment projects and programs to extend and develop the understanding of water resource capabilities, risks and capacity in the Northern Territory to meet Government’s priorities and commitments.

The Senior Hydrogeologist will have demonstrated experience in their field and will deploy industry leading water resource assessment techniques and standards and facilitate landowner and land manager participation in water assessment projects.

Applicants with previous demonstrated experience providing hydrogeological supervision of bore drilling projects, and a willingness to undertake fieldwork in remote locations for extended periods of time (up to six weeks) will be highly regarded.
