A new opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join Forensicare as a Clinical Training Educator.

About us:

Forensicare, the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. Due for completion in late 2017, the new private medium-security men’s prison will be built at Ravenhall in Melbourne’s west, providing world-class forensic mental health services for Prisoners with a mental illness. The new forensic mental health service will be located in purpose built facilities developed to international best standards.

About the role:

The Clinical Educator will be responsible for the development, coordination and some delivery of training across the FMH Services at the Ravenhall Correctional Centre. This position will also be responsible for ensuring that Forensicare delivers the contractually required training to GEO and other service providers at the prison. This is a full-time position which will initially be based in Northcote and then move to Ravenhall Correctional Centre late 2017.

About you:

  • Applicants must possess a relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience and demonstrate recent clinical professional practice
  • Demontrated training and development experience in the Health sector.
  • Posses a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a multi-disciplined complex environment
  • Flexible approach and highly developed facilitation skills
  • Proven ability to coordinate, facilitate and evaluate training and development programs
  • Experience in online training module development
  • Understanding and delivery of adult based learning principals and contemporary learning programs
  • Ability to negotiate training and development matters with clinical staff, members of executive management, external bodies and individuals
  • The ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional and management skills development
  • Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery.
