Senior Manager Corporate & Government Affairs

Are you a senior Corporate and Government Affairs Manager seeking an exciting new challenge? Well… look no further!

Queensland Rail is actively seeking a Senior Manager Corporate and Government Affairs. This exciting and critical role within the Customer Service & Innovation function, will actively contribute to the success of QR through the provision of a full suite of government, media and external/internal strategic communications strategies.

In this dynamic, fast paced and high profile role, you will build and maintain excellent relationships both internally and with a broad range of government and non-government stakeholders providing strategic thinking and guidance in the proactive management of issues to positively build QR’s brand and reputation and contribute to the delivery of the Queensland Rail vision to become a modern, world class customer focused railway.

You will be a strong leader, motivated and enthusiastic with extensive knowledge and experience of government, media, industry, community and internal engagement strategies in a large complex organisation.

As a recognised leader, you will demonstrate effective and successful contemporary leadership at a functional level and promote a vibrant, performance-focused culture, initiating and implementing change and transformation in line with Queensland Rail’s values. Your leadership will flow through and be evident in the strong, influential and professional relationships you and your team hold with key stakeholders.

Key criteria:

  • A strong influencer, with a sophisticated communication style and ability to deliver information
  • Experience in corporate, media and government relations at a senior level with a strong reputation for developing and implementing a strategic agenda, plans and advice
  • Experience in a large and complex corporate environment with a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage a large and dynamic portfolio of communications activity and implement efficient ways of working/process to ensure effective delivery
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Highly commercial and comfortable operating at all levels
  • Proven ability to lead, manage and develop a team

Starting salary: $190,000 + super
