About the NSW Rural Fire Service

The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the lead combat agency for bush fires in NSW. Working closely with other agencies we respond to a range of emergencies including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents and storms that occur within rural fire districts.

Our vision and mission is to provide a world standard of excellence in the provision of a community-based fire and emergency service. To protect the community and our environment we will minimise the impact of fire and other emergencies by providing the highest standards of training, community education, prevention and operational capability.

About the role

The role leads regionally based support services for ICT infrastructure, operational communications and NSW RFS enterprise and spatial systems. This support includes the delivery of training and educational programs for enterprise and spatial systems, identifies areas for continuous improvements and sets telecommunication standards and procedures for NSW RFS systems, fleet and facilities.

To be successful in this role you will need exceptional customer service and vendor management skills, as this role is key in creating a highly successful regionally based team which supports and promotes ICT across the state. You will need to identify and implement continuous improvement strategies to drive and deliver results for a high profile emergency organisation.

You must meet the following essential requirements:

- An Advanced Diploma in a relevant discipline, or equivalent relevant expertise.

- Current drivers licence, ability and willingness to travel.

- Required to participate on an afterhours and/or on call roster.

- Ability and willingness to complete operational training to a supervisory level for field operations.

- During periods of major fire activity, the incumbent may be required to support operational management activities consistent with their skills and background.
